Since being named Chief Deputy by Interim Sheriff Edward Spooner, Larry Ashley has been instrumental in increasing efficiency, cutting costs and saving taxpayer dollars. Working together, Larry and Sheriff Spooner have already reduced the Sheriff’s Office budget by $2 million without compromising public safety. As our sheriff, Larry Ashley will continue to find ways to cut waste and stretch taxpayer dollars while delivering a high level of public safety.
ENDING CORRUPTION
Called a “true hero of Florida” by Senate President Jeff Atwater, Larry Ashley has been awarded the Senate Medal of Excellence, the legislature’s highest award for service to the people of Florida. Larry received the prestigious honor for exposing the corruption that pervaded the former sheriff’s high command. As our sheriff, Larry will focus on ethics and professionalism at all levels within the department.
IMPROVING STANDARDS
Larry Ashley is taking the steps necessary to ensure our Sheriff’s office meets and maintains the highest professional standards, including accreditation and outside oversight. As our sheriff, Larry will expand training opportunities and increase formal education levels for deputies, bringing us an even higher level of public safety and service.
